2007 to Today… and still getting better.
On December 7th, 2007, Lindsay Palizzi, with the help of her husband, Nick, opened the restaurant she had been dreaming of for nearly ten years. They drew upon the expertise that she had gained through her years of work as a CPA with Nick’s knowledge and understanding of restaurant design from his years as a commercial architect to create an environment quite different than any other restaurant in Michigan. With assistance from many friends, family, and excellent staff, they created Downtown Main Martini Bar & Grille on the simple premise of providing great food, quality refreshments, and a stunning atmosphere… all at a reasonable price.
These original owners are still involved in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant but have added an excellent management and culinary team that believe in these these original principles. With their help, Downtown Main now has an award-winning entree and tapas menu and have combined it with more unique martinis, a world class wine list, an extensive list of beer from around the world, and over 200 different types of liquor to provide the most unique and exciting dining experience available in Livingston County. Thanks to these things and the wonderful support of staff and the Brighton community, Downtown Main has had the honor of being named Best Tapas Restaurant and Best Martini Bar by WDIV’s Click on Detroit Best Of Contest as well as Best Trendy Bar in the Detroit A List Contest.
Meet Our Team
Jennifer Pellegrini, General Manager
Jen has more than 10 years in the restaurant industry and joined Downtown Main in 2013 where her talents were immediately evident. Jen was named our lead server soon after and has since solidified herself as a leader earning her the role of General Manager. Jen is responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant and is a dedicated wife to husband Tony and mother to her three children. She is a resident of Brighton and an active member of our community.
Katina Wolfenbarger, Bar Manager
Katina has a lifetime of experience in the restaurant industry having grown up working in her family’s restaurants. She joined Downtown Main in 2015 and has since become a respected manager. She was the creative force behind the new drink menu released in early 2016. Katina is a true mixologist and her passion for her craft is evident in the many drinks that bear her signature. Katina lives in White Lake with her long-time boyfriend Brett and her dog Hattie.
Christian Hang, Executive Chef
Chef Christian has more than 15 years of experience after graduating from the Culinary Art Institute of Hyde Park, New York. He has applied them to his position as Executive Chef at multiple restaurants in Minnesota and resorts in Idaho and Michigan. His training and experience in a wide range of cuisine makes Chef Christian the perfect fit a Downtown Main as we strive to always improve our menu and introduce our guests to new and exciting flavors and presentations.
Ryan Hainsworth, Sous Chef
Chef Ryan has been cooking professionally for over 15 years. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, he went on as a chef in multiple restaurants in the Midwest where he held Sous Chef and Executive Chef positions. Chef Ryan’s interest in local produce, modern cooking, and his background with numerous cuisines makes an extremely valuable asset to Downtown Main.
